Samsung has
just introduced two products smart watches, Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo at Mobile
World Congress that began earlier this week in Barcelona, Spain.
Smartwatch
different from previous versions, no-frills name "Galaxy" in the two
products. Yes, Samsung does have stripped the name Galaxy in both smart
watches it because it does not use the Android operating system again.
Samsung
chose to rely on the operating system they developed themselves,
ieTizen. Tizen OS is also based on the Linux operating system was
developed by a consortium in which Samsung and Intel have a role in it.
The
operating system was made for a number of gadgets, such as smartphones,
tablets, smart TVs, or in-car entertainment devices, and so on.
Why bother
Samsung launches smart watches with Tizen OS? Whether this is the start of
Samsung's cue to leave Android?

from The Verge, Samsung has not provided a detailed explanation of the reasons
they took off Android.
Likewise
with application compatibility between the first and second generation
smartwatch Samsung. However, Samsung promised that Gears 2 and Gears 2 Neo
will get support from "dozens" Samsung devices currently marketed.
Some basic
functions of Samsung Galaxy Gear maintained in Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo, but

Previously,
Samsung has conducted a survey to a number of users who want a watch strap that
can be changed in color. Samsung did the survey because it recognizes that
the first generation of smart watches less desirable users.
Samsung
said in January that the Galaxy Gear has a number of drawbacks such as short
battery life, voice command feature is not perfect, the gadget is still little
support, as well as the selling price is too expensive.
"Samsung
already know what to do in the future so that customers will want to adopt
it," said Curtis Sasaki, Senior Vice President of Samsung's Media
Solutions Center America told CNET last January.
While Ryan
Bidan, Product Marketing Director of Samsung's U.S. Mobile Business said that
from the failure, at least Samsung has to know what the customer wants, as if
to see more information displayed in smartwatch and can speak directly with the
gadgets they use. Voice control features needed for smartwatch felt more
than a touch screen.
Midwives
also when it says if Samsung smart watches watches should have a strap that can
be replaced. The reason is, once you purchase the Galaxy Gear with a
certain color, they take a long time to get bored with the choices.
Tizen OS
could be considered to provide these abilities as above, so that the Samsung
abandon Android.
In terms of
hardware, the processor into one part that gets the update. Samsung has
now stripped off chip 800 MHz single-core processors in the Galaxy Gear and
replace it with a 1 GHz dual-core chips in the new smart watches. The
weight and thickness were also trimmed.
Samsung has
not released the official selling price for Gear 2 Gear and Neo. The
company plans to begin marketing from next April.
